Does Diablo IV require an internet connection?
Yes. Diablo IV is always-online, even for solo play - a constant broadband connection to Battle.net is required, and there is no offline mode.
Do I need the Vessel of Hatred expansion?
No - the base game is fully playable without it. Vessel of Hatred (from $39.99) adds the Spiritborn class, the Nahantu region and new endgame content.
Is Diablo IV pay-to-win?
No. The in-game shop and Battle Pass are cosmetic (armor appearances, mounts) plus XP-boost tiers; you cannot buy character power or gear that affects combat.
