The base-game platinum is essentially a full-completion award rather than a skill gauntlet. Story progress hands you a batch of trophies automatically, and the rest come from clearing side content in each realm: finishing Favours (side quests), closing out combat objectives like Berserker Gravestones and the optional bosses, and mopping up collectibles and world activities such as Nornir chests, Odin's ravens, and Remnants of Asgard. Critically, there is no difficulty-based trophy — you can play the whole game on the easiest setting (Give Me Story) and still earn everything, which is why most guides rate it around a 4 out of 10.
Time-wise, expect roughly 40-50 hours on the lowest difficulty to reach the platinum, more if you play on harder settings for your own enjoyment. Almost nothing is truly missable: after the credits you regain free roam of the realms and can fast-travel back to finish anything you skipped, and later chapters can be revisited to clean up, so the honest approach is to simply enjoy the story first and then do a dedicated cleanup pass with a map/collectible checklist rather than stressing about order.
The Valhalla DLC is a free roguelite mode added after launch, and it is tracked as a completely separate trophy list of 12 trophies (1 silver, 11 bronze) with no platinum. Its trophies revolve around progressing the roguelite loop — completing runs, reaching later chambers, spending resources on upgrades, and advancing its short narrative — and it too has no difficulty requirement, so it can be finished on the easiest setting in roughly 6-8 hours. Because it is a distinct list, earning or skipping it has no bearing on whether you already have the base-game platinum.
