Baldur's Gate 3 added full cross-platform multiplayer in Patch 8, released April 2025. Players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can now join the same online co-op session (up to four players) regardless of platform, by signing in with a free Larian account and using an in-game host code. There are no platform exclusions among the currently supported systems, all four can mix. A few practical notes: the game has no PS4 or Xbox One version, so 'console' here means current-gen only; installed mods generally need to match across the party for crossplay sessions to work smoothly; and local split-screen co-op is a console-only feature (PC does online multiplayer only). Patch 8 also brought split-screen to the Xbox Series S, which had launched without it. The same Larian account also enables cross-save/cross-progression, letting you carry a campaign between platforms. Crossplay is optional and can be toggled off if you prefer same-platform sessions.
