The Blood of Dawnwalker is the debut RPG from Rebel Wolves, the Polish studio founded in 2022 by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. He is joined by fellow CD Projekt Red veterans including creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and narrative director Jakub Szamałek. Published by Bandai Namco and built in Unreal Engine 5, the vampire dark-fantasy epic launches Thursday, September 3, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Pre-orders are already live in Standard ($69.99), Eclipse ($79.99) and Collector's ($199.99) editions.
You play Coen, a young swordsman turned half-vampire — a Dawnwalker — after the vampire lord Brencis and his coterie seize Vale Sangora, a fictional valley in the 14th-century Carpathians. By day Coen fights as an infected human with steel and witchcraft; after sundown the curse takes over, unlocking vrakhir powers such as supernatural strikes and wolf-form traversal. The hook is time as a resource: Coen has 30 in-game days and nights to save his family, and only key quests and actions push the clock forward. Rebel Wolves describes the structure as a narrative sandbox where the order and cost of your choices reshape the story.
Momentum is building ahead of launch. In July 2026, press outlets played extended four-to-six-hour hands-on sessions, and the first previews were broadly positive, praising the writing, the day-night split and the pressure the time system puts on side activities. Rebel Wolves originally targeted a roughly 40-hour adventure, but the studio now estimates 30-40 hours for the main story and 50-70 hours for players who explore Vale Sangora thoroughly. As of mid-July 2026 there is no sign of a delay, and the date has held firm since it was announced — the main open question is exact unlock timing per region.
