Pokémon Pokopia

Pokémon Pokopia is a relaxing life- and craft-simulation game set in the Pokémon world, published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. You play as a Ditto that has transformed into a human and settled on an untamed island, gradually building it into a bustling town. Ditto's signature trick is copying Pokémon it befriends to gain new abilities — meeting Squirtle lets you water plants, meeting Scyther lets you fell trees — and the goal is to attract as many Pokémon as possible to your growing community. It launched on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Pokopia — frequently asked

What is Pokémon Pokopia?
It is a relaxing life- and craft-simulation game (in the vein of Animal Crossing) set in the Pokémon world. You play as a Ditto transformed into a human, building an island town and attracting Pokémon while copying their abilities to shape the land.
When does Pokémon Pokopia release?
It launched on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
What platforms is it on?
Nintendo Switch 2 only — it is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. There are no PlayStation, Xbox, PC or original Switch versions.
Does Pokémon Pokopia have multiplayer?
Yes. It is mainly single-player but supports optional co-op for up to four players, either via local wireless or online through Nintendo Switch Online. You can visit friends' islands, build a shared Cloud Island, or play together in Palette Town.
How does it relate to the mainline Pokémon games?
It is a spin-off, not a mainline RPG. Instead of catching Pokémon, battling gyms and becoming Champion, Pokopia is a laid-back life/craft simulation where you befriend Pokémon and build a community — closer to Animal Crossing than to Pokémon Scarlet/Violet or Legends.
