Is Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen (Switch) cross-platform?

There is no cross-platform play, and in fact no online play at all. All of the games' connectivity is local wireless only: with the game running on nearby Nintendo Switch systems, up to five players (yourself plus four others) can gather in the in-game Pokémon Wireless Club on the second floor of a Pokémon Center and use the Union Room to trade, battle, or play a minigame — exactly as the GBA originals did over Game Link. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems can connect to each other this way, since both run the same software.
