Gears of War: E-Day has a confirmed release date: October 6, 2026. It's listed right on the official Xbox Store page ("Available 10/6/2026"), so this is official, not a leak. The Coalition is developing it as a prequel set on Emergence Day.
It launches on Xbox Series X|S and PC (Windows), with Xbox Play Anywhere cross-progression between the two. There is no PlayStation 5 version — that's been explicitly confirmed. And because it's an Xbox Game Studios title, it's on Xbox Game Pass from day one, so subscribers can play it at no extra cost on launch day.
There's also a multiplayer open beta before launch — it starts August 6, 2026 (see our Gears E-Day beta page for how to get in early). Pre-orders are live now and grant early beta access. The countdown above is set to the confirmed October 6 launch and updates automatically.
