Warzone supports full crossplay across every platform it runs on: PC (Battle.net and Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S players all share the same lobbies, and crossplay is enabled by default. You add friends and carry progress through a free Activision account, which also powers cross-progression - your rank, unlocks, weapon levels, and Battle Pass follow you across every linked platform, so you can play on PC and pick up on console seamlessly. Crossplay settings differ by platform: on PlayStation you can turn crossplay off entirely, while on Xbox and PC you can restrict some matchmaking but cannot fully separate Xbox from PC. To keep things fair, matchmaking also considers input device, so controller and mouse-and-keyboard players are generally pooled with similar input where possible. Disabling crossplay usually means much longer queue times and is mainly used by players who want to avoid mouse-and-keyboard opponents. Because Warzone is one unified live game rather than separate per-platform versions, there is no 'PC-only' or 'console-only' edition - everyone plays the same build, on the same update schedule, in the same shared player pool.

Call of Duty: Warzone is fully free-to-play - no game purchase or subscription is needed to download and play; the store sells cosmetics, weapon blueprints, and a seasonal Battle Pass, and base weapons are identical whether or not you buy blueprints.
