Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone is Activision's free-to-play battle royale, where squads drop onto a large map and fight to be the last team standing, using the Gulag second-chance mechanic and cash to buy loadouts and killstreaks. It runs inside the shared Call of Duty app and can be installed and played entirely for free, separate from premium titles like Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare III. Alongside classic Battle Royale it offers faster modes such as Resurgence and the money-grab Plunder, rotating across maps like Verdansk, Urzikstan, and Rebirth Island. Content is delivered in seasons that add maps, weapons, and cosmetics on the same schedule as the paid Call of Duty games.

Warzone — frequently asked

Is Call of Duty: Warzone free?
Yes. Warzone is completely free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. You do not need to own Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare III, or any paid Call of Duty game to download and play it.
Do I need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to play?
Yes, on PC. Warzone's Ricochet anti-cheat requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled in your BIOS/UEFI - without them the game will not launch, even on powerful hardware.
Does my progress carry between platforms?
Yes. Cross-progression links your rank, unlocks, weapon levels, and Battle Pass to your Activision account, so everything follows you across every linked platform.
Which platforms is Warzone on?
PC (Windows, via Battle.net and Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. There is no native mobile version; Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is a separate app.
Is Warzone pay-to-win?
No. Store purchases are cosmetic - operator skins, weapon blueprints, and the Battle Pass. Blueprints are alternate looks for weapons you can also unlock by playing and do not give stat advantages, since base weapons are identical.
