Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has a confirmed release date: October 23, 2026. Activision announced it in May 2026 and revealed it at the June 7 Xbox Games Showcase, and the date is listed on the official Xbox Store — so it's official. Infinity Ward is developing it.
It's a current-generation release: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Battle.net, Steam and Xbox on PC). PS4 and Xbox One are dropped this year. Some outlets have also listed a Nintendo Switch 2 version — treat that as reported rather than firmly confirmed until Activision says so. Note that, unlike some recent Xbox-published titles, Modern Warfare 4 is not on Game Pass at launch.
Pre-orders are live now. Every digital pre-order includes Open Beta Early Access plus a Hunter Killer Operator skin. Activision hasn't dated the beta yet, but the franchise pattern is an open beta a few weeks before launch — this page and our countdown update the moment those dates are confirmed.
