Full cross-platform play

Crossplay is enabled by default and lets friends on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch play in the same lobbies. Matchmaking keeps the platforms fair by pooling all console players together and only routing to PC-hosted lobbies when a party includes at least one PC player; console players can turn crossplay off in the settings, while PC players cannot. On top of crossplay, Apex added cross-progression, which ties your unlocked Legends, cosmetics, Battle Pass progress, and most currencies to your EA Account so they follow you between linked platforms. The main caveat is currency: Apex Coins bought on Nintendo Switch stay locked to that platform, whereas coins purchased on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox share one merged wallet. Note that EA has announced that the original Nintendo Switch version will stop being playable on August 4, 2026 (the start of Season 30); Apex remains fully supported on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2, and Switch progress carries over to Switch 2.
