Diablo IV ist bei 1080p nicht besonders anspruchsvoll; die Mindeststufe reicht bis zu Hardware aus der GTX-660-/i5-2500K-Ära zurück, und die empfohlene Stufe (GTX 970 / GTX-1070-Klasse) erreicht bequem 1080p60 auf Mittel bis Hoch. Blizzard veröffentlicht zudem höhere 'Ultra 4K'-Empfehlungen (Core i7-8700K / Ryzen 7 2700X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 / RX 6800 XT) für 4K/60 in Ultra. Die wichtigste praktische Anforderung sind eine SSD und 16 GB RAM, um Ruckler beim Textur-Streaming zu vermeiden, dazu eine ständige Breitbandverbindung, weil das Spiel always-online ist. Das Spiel versucht zwar, auf Hardware unter dem Minimum zu starten (HDDs, Dual-Core-CPUs, integrierte GPUs), doch das Erlebnis ist beeinträchtigt. Auf dem Steam Deck läuft das Spiel, ist aber offiziell Unsupported/Playable statt Verified, vor allem wegen der Always-Online-Pflicht und der kleinen Text-UI.
