Planet Zoo 2 is the sequel to Frontier Developments' acclaimed zoo-building simulation, tasking players with designing, decorating, and managing sprawling wildlife parks down to the smallest detail. The follow-up expands the series' signature blend of authentic animal husbandry and creative construction, adding two headline habitat types the original never offered: fully customisable aquariums and aviaries. Frontier is also leaning further into conservation, giving builders new ways to house aquatic and flying species alongside the land animals fans already know.
The game is confirmed for release on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and unlike the first Planet Zoo it will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S simultaneously rather than reaching consoles years later. The Standard Edition carries a suggested price of $49.99 (£39.99 / €49.99), while a Deluxe Edition at $64.99 bundles six extra animal species and a set of exclusive decorative signs. Pre-orders are open now across Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox, with a Bonus Content Pack included for anyone who reserves either edition.
Anticipation is high because the first Planet Zoo built a devoted community around its detail-obsessed creativity and its thriving blueprints and workshop scene, and a full sequel has been a long-standing request.
