Octopath Traveler II is a turn-based HD-2D role-playing game from Square Enix set in the dual-continent world of Solistia. Players choose from eight travelers, each with their own storyline, class abilities and reasons for setting out, then weave those journeys together across a land on the cusp of an industrial revolution. Combat leans on the series' Break and Boost system, where exposing enemy weaknesses and banking turns are the keys to victory.
This release is a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the 2023 game, optimized with improved resolution and a smoother frame rate over the original Switch edition. It launches in North America and Europe on October 1, 2026, sold both digitally and physically as a standalone title, alongside a digital-only bundle that also includes the first Octopath Traveler. Square Enix has confirmed there is no paid upgrade for existing Switch owners and that save data does not carry over between the two versions.
