MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a team-based fighting game developed by Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, in collaboration with Marvel Games. It is built around a 4v4 tag system in which matches begin with a single fighter and an assist before opening up to a full four-character squad as you meet mid-round conditions like dealing damage and triggering Wall Breaks that carry the fight across a stage's arenas. Unusually for the genre, an entire team shares a single health bar, a design meant to keep the action readable rather than forcing players to master every member of the roster.
Sony Interactive Entertainment is publishing the game for PlayStation 5 and PC, where it arrives on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The confirmed launch date is Thursday, August 6, 2026, with cross-platform play connecting PS5 and PC players across casual and ranked online modes. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99, alongside an $84.99 Digital Deluxe Edition and a $99.99 Ultimate Edition that bundle Year One character and stage passes plus cosmetic extras.
Anticipation has been building since the game's June 2025 reveal, driven by Arc System Works' fighting-game pedigree and a launch lineup of around 20 Marvel heroes and villains reimagined in a bold, anime-inspired style, from Spider-Man and Iron Man to Doctor Doom, Storm, and Ghost Rider. Fighting-game fans are watching to see whether the shared-health tag system can make high-level team play more approachable without sacrificing depth. With a full story mode, arcade mode, and cross-play online, it aims to be both a showcase Marvel crossover and a serious competitive fighter.
