Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a kaiju arena brawler from Atari and returning developer Pipeworks, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 from the 2002 cult classic. Players choose from a roster of 12 Toho monsters, each with melee combos, energy beams, and a devastating Rage Mode, then trade city-leveling blows across eight locations that include real-world cities, Monster Island, and an alien Mothership. Atari describes the project as a ground-up visual overhaul that keeps the original's mechanics largely intact while layering on modern features.
The remaster is confirmed for release on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam. The standard digital edition is priced at $29.99, with a physical PlayStation 5 version also at $29.99 and a physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition at $39.99. Pre-orders are already live on Atari's own store as well as major retailers such as GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon.
It has been more than two decades since a dedicated Destroy All Monsters Melee title, and this remaster is the sub-series' first proper return since the GameCube and Xbox era. Longtime fans are drawn by the promise of 4K visuals and faithful, near-identical combat, while newcomers get an accessible price point and, for the first time in the franchise, online multiplayer alongside the classic local co-op. That mix of nostalgia and modernization has kept the kaiju community counting down to launch.
